for starters im not boring my ca out to 2.4 L dont need to to get 500hp. and i have also seen a jap spec worked CA created by tommy kiria motorsport (pretty sure it was them) with a worked 2.4 L ca. i dont know the exact specs for the car so i guess you can do it but weather it is practical is another matter. all im doing to my car is oversized forged rods and pistons, head work, head gasget, valves etc, plentium, manafold, GT30/40 turbo, cams and cam gears, motec ems, apexi avc-r, front mount intercooler, 300zx afm, few other tweeks. should get 500hp little more if i use nos

The fact that you can't spell most of the parts you are going to use in this "500 BHP" motor doesn't inspire any confidence in it's potential or build quality.Originally posted by Niz90

By the way, if you are going aftermarket management, why not purchase something with a boost controller within the functions of the management system, as you are using Motec. You could even use Autronic. What Motec are you using? Is it the fact that you'll have Apexi equipment and therefore must be good????
Really if you don't have at least $10k, then I wouldn't bother attempting such a high BHP motor. Be satisfied with something reliable, rather than going for a big BHP motor, that will ultimately cost you the earth. As soons as you break something, you'll be up for another small fortune. I really think you should do some planning before embarking on this, rather than relying on what they've done in a magazine. The customer.

if your running motec ems, then why are u using a AFM?
do u know what the AFM does?
if u are running a motec ems like u state, why run a jap boost controller as well? do u want the apexi to control boost for the motec?
what kind of injectors are u gonna use?
what type of forgies are u planning on?
what kind of engine is this CA going into?
can i have some of your wealth? looks like its gonna be a bloody expensive build mate

funny thing is....
if he only made 250hp from a ca in a car that weighed half as much(silvia) he would go just as fast.... then if he bumped it up to 350 it would be a rocket... just with out all those big brand name parts... depends what people want i guess... show or go
hope my basic physics is plausable

N.F.I. alright.....
Tommy wouldn't make a 2.4L CA engine... JUN make a 2.2L stroker kit for the SR20, but if you find someone making CA's bigger than about 2.1L (huge work required even for this) I'd be extremely surprised. If you can find proof of this let me know Niz....
...most impressive Nissan engine I've seen is a 300hp+ Naturally Aspirated SR20

ok the ca engine i was looking at was not a ca18det but was a ca20de out of the older style bluebirds (apparntly). the engine was redone as a turbo and it was bored out to 2.3L . so sorry bout that one they just refered to the engine as a ca so i assumed it was a ca18det i dident even know there was a ca20. anyway dont intend to bore my engine out maby just oversized pistons. i went to JHH and they said i would be limited in hp using pump fuel and if i wanted more hp i would need to use C16 or another form of racing fuel. but to get 500hp at the engine on a ca i would need forged pistons, head work, new turbo and manafold, computer, and few other things but is very achievable apparntly so see what happens total cost was around the $6000 mark
