i must disagree with the "Plus structural integrity is minimal at best." have a look at the link below

fatboy, im basicly doing the same with a ke20 corolla, can only engineer it with a 12a, just gonna change to a decked 13B when the 12a gives out. bonus with my car is i can run 26x9s without modding my guards muhahaha

      shan
if its made from steel and i cant modify it, it cant be modified

        Closer,
even though it is a bit tongue in cheek and a "relative statement", I'm pretty happy with the quip.
The front rail arrangement on them are not quite the strongest arround plus they have the battery sitting over the passengers side rail with a neat little lip to direct all the acid and crud to the inside of the rail where they eventually die from the inside out. The important (ie structural) spot welds on my car (eg inside guard to firewall or rail) were few and far between. I got the 2 door sedan as it should have been stronger than the lighter wagon... which apparently can pop side windows out with a decent torque reaction on a launch.
I'd not like to have one that has had a lot of horsepower going through it for a long time.
Though some attention to the front end by boxing and bracing the rails and stitching the front seams seem to make engineers quite happy.... THere was a 1300 wagon engineered locally for a 13bT and they had done a lot of precautionary work on it (but apparently it still flexed the body a bit...).

If looking at serious power with the rx3/4 style engine mount I used, then I'd be plating and beefing up the sway bar mounts and connecting the front strut towers to the firewall.
