    Clutch Slipping - Any ideas?

I had a new clutch put into my car around 50,000k's ago (its the last time a mechanic touched it ever... not one has fixed everything without causing more probs, so I do my own repairs now and haven't had a single extra problem since).

Basically after the first 5000k's it started to slip. Always occurred the most in hot weather & heavy traffic, but at other times it would grip perfectly. I'm not riding the clutch (ie. sometimes its gripping fine, then i'll stop & idle for a few minutes in traffic, and it will slip terribly when I start to try and move again). My Exa has a hyrdaulic clutch system and both the master & slave cylinders were reconditioned around 12 months ago.

Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this to occur?

Could it possibly be the pedal 'play' adjustment going into the clutch master cylinder, possibly 'half-dragging' the clutch on when I'm driving normally? - I've checked and found there is still a lot of pressure on the clutch arm from the slave cylinder even without the pedal pressed.

Does it have a return spring?
Don't know about exa clutches, but pressure plate could be worn.
Had an escort, about 5 years ago, that kept blowing clutches because it didn't have a return spring.
If there is too much pressure on the clutch lever it could be causing this.

It does have a return spring but the pedal is coming back the whole way so i doubt it is that. The thing i was wondering about however, was where the pedal connects to the master cylinder 'arm' or whatever u want to call it. I may need to adjust that perhaps so the master cylinder is fully releasing pressure, otherwise it could cause me to only have I dunno, 70 or 80% pressure when the clutch pedal is released?

is the clutch being fully depressed?
Maybe the clutch master cylinder isn't pushing far enough.
Had this prob with a mini, and all it was,was bleeding it properly.
But like I said,if there is too much pressure on the pressure plate, you will burn out the thrust race.
