    Did a search

Turbosmart and TurboXS were started up by the same person. He sold the Turbosmart business a couple of years ago. He then founded TurboXS mainly to sell stuff in the US where nothing was available. The TurboXS stuff were his upgraded designs. Very clever guy. - itsnotagsr

Having had both the TXS one has given me less grief.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the lag of the boxer and the unreliability of rotary. Blessed is he who, in the name of power and throttle response, shepherds the weak through the valley of detonation, for he is truly his brother's tuner and the maker of huge power. And I will strike down upon thee with furious boost and great acceleration those who attempt to outrun and outhandle my brothers. And you will know my name is SR when I lay my vengeance upon you.

No, you need a tap, a couple of valves, a couple of hoses, a couple of connectors; and it all adds up to being something like $50. And it looks like shit. Much neater to pay $100 & have it all in one small easily-mounted unit.

well , i can control boost anywhere between 15-25 psi with nothing more then single piece of hose and a tap tee'd off my w-gate line.
no spikes whatsover , was like $10 total.
my friends got a two stage turbosmart on a VLT and has no end of trouble with the stupid thing

Yeah, but a single bleed doesn't stop wastegate creep; the wastegate creeps at the same rate as it would on the standard car. So yeah, you get a nice smooth boost-curve, but the boost doesn't come on as quickly as it can with a double-valve setup. That's why you get the overboost situation, when you set the boost up to come on too quickly, and then the wastegate can't open quickly enough to lower the boost, which causes overboosting, which causes the wastegate to see WAY too much boost and overcompensate which sees the boost dropping quickly, which makes the wastegate overcompensate the other way ... it bounces back & forth.
You can set up these valves to work in the same way as a single bleed, by adjusting one of the controls right down to make it effectively a single-valve setup, but you lose the advantage.

i have none of the problems you described , boost comes on nice and strong and holds perfectly.
i am running a external w/gate though , prolly should have mentioned that

external gate would be a whole different story RZ

                  in what respect ?
not trying to be smart , just want to get discussion going on whats deemed best for either setup , internal/external.

with an external gate u can control the boost in a couple of ways,

on the base of the diaphram or a on the top

i just used a restrictor in the bottom diaphram and it was perfect...i made the auto speed-boost controller

the plumbing taps are ok, ideally they do the same thing

Actually, I'd like further explanation as well.

The thing that happens with internal wastegates, as I understand it, is that the wastegate starts to open as the boost-threshold gets near; the idea of these valves is not to let the wastegate see it's threshold until you reach that threshold, so boost comes on quicker.

                      External wastegates don't do that?

well i thought the internal wastegate bleed idea was to only let the valve open a set distance governed by how much air is bled from the actuator , therefore increasing boost ?
