    SR20 that likes to stall???

If I back off totally and drop the clutch at 2k revs or higher the revs drop to just above 500 then it either stalls or picks up and idles at about 850. It would stall probably half the time.

Any idea what could be causing the problem? Have I missed something really obvious??

If you have an aftermarket bov (ie. an atmo venting one) this will most probably cause the car to stall. I was playing around with my stock one a couple of weekends ago and didn't tighten the hose that plumbs back into the intake tight enough (ie. it came loose)....the result was a terrible driving car that constantly stalled, spluttered and backfired. So I'd be checking what type of bov (if you don't already know?) first. It's a very common cause of stalling on SR20's.

      SR20

This can be a chronic SR20 problem. It happens on DE's and DET's. There is a thread about 20 pages long on the problem at Pulsar Groups Australia . Nobody really has an answer.
