URGENT - Problems with incorrect bush sizes?

I have just bolted up a kmac 26mm front sway bar - but the front bushes (holding the bar to the front of the car) i have are suited to a 23mm diameter bar.

The bushes are a very hard urethane and have almost no give in them. I have managed to bolt it on, but i am worried that the bushes will be too tight and the sway bar wont be able to move.

Is this likely to happen? Will it cause me to die ?

The split in the bush, that would be closed on the correct size bar is about 2-3mm apart when installed.

    Please help!

The bar must rotate freely in the bush. If it feels at all tight now, it will get dry quickly and start to squeak, and then start to abrade the surface of the bush, and if it rotates in little jumps it might make cornering behaviour a little twitchy.

Correct bushes are the go, they shouldn't be too dear.

    cheers

With a decent amount of grease in the bush, the bar will move smoothly no matter how hard i squeeze it...

I guess it will be fine for a week until the new bushes come in ?

The Mazda bushes are usually tight! My RX-5 sway bar was VERY difficult to rotate, even with both ends disconneted.

If its only for a week or two... well, I won't recommend it, but I don't think you will die, either.
The old 929 (not so affectionatly known as 'The Sh*tbox'), had a 27mm bar in it. The bushes got so worn, that one "fell out" (actually, it slid sideways along the sway bar). Made a god-awful racket, and the steering got a bit vague, but there was no danger of anyone dying either (well, no MORE danger of anyone dying....).
