Std VT rims vs "chaser" rims

Are standard VT commo steel wheels the same width as the old chaser wheels (ie the ones the cops used instead of the standard 14" steel rims during the VL era)

    Cheers.

I believe so, becuase the fuzz run 225's these days and they hang right off the rims, same as on a VL-T.

VL's run 15x6's if I remember, and I would suggest that the VT's are the same.

There are three very slightly different offsets available by the way.

Thanks, that was the essence of the question.

The old man put 225s on the VT and they do indeed hang right out off the rim. We thought they looked a little too balloony compared to what you normally see on the cop cars.

      Must just be an illusion...

      Cheers

I thought the newer chaser style rims were 7" in width?

Just had a quick look around...

15"x6" are the older chasers (Pre VT)
15"x7" are off some newer commodores (VY utes, etc)

You can pick up 15"x7"' chasers for $25-50 each without tyres.
