Ive got a ca18det in a bluebird and im running 12psi most of the time and im only getting about 250km to a tank. im blowing heaps of black smoke on acceleration. im getting code 55 from the ecu so it thinks everything is ok. why could my car be running so rich?

Fuel pressure too high?
ECU does not measure it, just assumes its OK.

Perhaps you should replace your O2 sensor. It has a major affect on fuel economy. And so does the weight of your right foot

the ca18det run an airflow sensor,
this can foul and cause engine to run too rich..

try taking it out and cleaning it
