I was thinking of bright yellow, but it wouldn't really go with the chrome, hence I think I want a color that's mid-darkish, but not too dark.

Now it looks like I might be buying the car unpainted... Does anyone have any recommendations around Brisbane? Somewhere reliable that would give an honest paint job, that isn't too expensive...

You can always colour code the chrome bits.. or maybe paint them black.. I have seen chrome with yellow - didnt look too bad..

      Chrome and white is nice.

I know a painter but cant remember his phone number.. also he dosent really like jobs that are too complicated.

Chrome and yellow looks really good (looks at avatar :p ). As long as its a proper yellow, and not some pale yellow.

Have been having a look at photos of a yellow KE35:

I suppose it doesn't look bad, but the chrome doesn't stand out in any way either. I'll keep it as an option, else other colors I'm thinking off at the moment are Ralliart Red/HSV red (like, proper reds), an Royal Blue (some 70's Toyota color)

WardoG: Do you have any other photos of your car?

Turbo4WD: I don't think jobs get much simpler than this one The car is virtually completely stripped down, no straigtening or anything involved, just prime and topcoat. No engine or anything, very minimal dash, no fuel tank etc so virtually nothing to mask off either. If you find his phone number let me know

At night the chrome really looks nice against the yellow.

I'm with demuire there, the chrome doesn't really *jump out* on either of the yellow cars... Have I mentioned white yet? mmmm white, hides those little imperfects, cheap as chips, easy to match, doesn't attract the attention of the men in blue trousers, blue shirts and leather g-strings.

              HOORAY FOR WHITE!

Don't worry, thats just the self-preservation instinct, in my experience you can safely ignore it.

Hotgemini: Those wheels are absolutely... *drool* But chrome disappears even more into white than yellow!

I didn't mention chrome... paint it white too... anything aluminium should be painted white also.
