Reading spark plugs

Hi, just wodering I know it is possible to tell what is happening in an engine from the spark plugs like if it's running rich or anything, and I know if they are oil soaked it's leaking oil into the cylinder, but I dont know how to tell all the other conditions. Can someone please give me some pictures explaining how or just describe it to me?
