    electronic fuel pump switch/fuse

As part of my quest to make my car less stealable, I want to put in a hidden switch for the electronic pump thats in the boot.
Basically the pump is earthed out on the body and has a + wire running to the coil (I did not do this, but hey, works ok)

What I plan to do is intercept this wire and put a switch under the dash so that I can cut the power to the pump, no pump, no fuel, no go.

to stop the switch coping the full load from the battery, what should I do, and from a safety aspect I'm also guessing I should put a fuse in as well.

    Ideas people?

other than bypassing current, a relay will acheive exactly two tenths of F.A. that a switch alone cannot achieve.

Set the wiring into suicide mode, if the switch is energised and someone goes to turn the ignition switch on or hotwires it, it will blow the fuel pump fuse and slow them down even further. Basically, find the fuel pump positive wire and connect the switch from that to earth. Ensure the switch is rated to at least 20 amps.

Ensure you also turn the switch off before you try to start the car else it'll slow you down a few mins too
