u only need bigger injectors if u mod the cam and head etc.....bigger injectors just means that it can deliver more fuel at higher revs.....yeah regrahing it is the same...

There's an issue of "it depends" here.Originally posted by Gab
So will just adding the XE EFI Injectors alone give me more kW? will the standard computer be able to handle them?
The only way you can change something like that & have it work is if there's some form of feedback to the ECU, so it knows it's running to rich 'cos it's opening the larger injectors for too long.
However ... the feedback device, the oxygen sensor, can't be used on a leaded car because the lead destroys the sensor.
As leaded XF's had the same ECU as unleaded ones, that might mean unleaded ones don't have an oxygen sensor, because the leaded ones can't have one. If that's true, you'll need the ECU reprogrammed for different injectors.Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Forg, I know the unleaded and leaded ECU's are different (according to my workshop manual and fordmods.com anyway) But I'm pretty sure they didnt run an oxy sensor. Is there anything I can do? I dont wanna spend too much, but is there a way I could switch to fully programmable managment quite cheaply? I was thinking of adapting the Delco system used in Pulsar's and Commodore's as I've heard they are pretty versatile. What exactly will recurving/regraphing the dizzy actually do?

it's just got a higher compression ratio because the head has been shaved. I also belivie that it has titainium valves and it has been ported and polished a fair bit. I've also got a 2.5" cat back exhaust on there :-) Ignition timing is correct with a timing light.

Well, the engine may feel more doughy down low because the head has been ported and polished "a fair bit" which means you are moving your useful torque and power band higher in the rev range,I really dont like polishing on street modified vehicles as its money that could be spent on more street friendly mods IMO
Has it had a cam swap?,If it has this may be an indication of a bigger or a wrongly degreed cam
As for dizzy re-graphing,It involves changing the advance speed and amount to better suit the characteristics of a modded motor to allow more/less initial or mechanical/vacuum advance.
