Help Required - Anyone with a vk digital dash

Hey guys

Having a few problems with my digital dash,

Problem:

If there is no fuel in the tank or the tank is on empty does the green bar on the dash light up for fuel???

If so, does anyone know if the fuel reading goes directly to the tanks sender? Or does it bypass through fuses and/or relays to get there?

Is there any way to test the fuel reading on the dash by giving it some voltage (either + or -).

Problem 2:

Whenever I hold high beam on or flick it on or off the dash lights go crazy and randomly turn on and off. I think this is due to the light sensor which adjusts the brightness of the dash. Anyone else had this specific problem..???

Ive heard that this is because the earth wire is really pissy on those dashes, also ive also heard its a dry joint prob. Id try the earth lead first, try fitting a nice big solid one to it from the body.
