    Catalytic Convert Help/Question

I know about the law regarding emmisions and not running a CAT. Ppl rave on about the fines and what not....
But my question is, how does one keep a CAT intact if running a rich air/fuel ratio to keep high boosting safe?

Or even, how do ppl run CATs on rotories?
I see them back fire every time they step off the pedal..........

I'm running a 3" high flow CAT so restriction isn't a problem for me however the CAT didn't last me too long.

After a few launches and redlines, now the CAT is pretty much hollowed itself out

I technically have a CAT installed but it isn't working.
    Any solutions?

p.s pls don't say run a leaner mixture.
    i had a dog once.

run a leaner mixture....in conjunction with water injection, revised timing and better intercooling..maybe a dyno tune.

apparently the amount of pullutuion causes mining the noble metas required for a catalytic converter completely voids the benefit of having them...

lucky for me after i install my injected engine, it still doesn't need a cat.

I dont think youd have to many problems, its very hard to tell wether the inside of your CAT is intact or hollow when the case is still fitted to your car. So the odds of a Policeman spotting it from a road side inspection is minimal, although ive heard the car sounds "tinnier" without a cat?? So it might still be picked up...

My car also runs quite rich, and has a hi-flow aftermarket cat fitted, my exhasut back fires and pops a fair bit, so im sure that the CAT is copping a beating!!! But thats life....

The current trend* in japan is to run on of the newer cats such as mettalit - apparently they have the flow + ability to handle the heat

            * - primarily taken from rotary magazines, though I do see them advertised for all sorts of other cars
            bah

They'll know when they run an emission test while they have you over the pits...if your unlucky to be spotted for something else.
