    de-badging

hey, the badging on the boot of my car has gone all shitty, so i want to remove it without damaging the paint. its glued on. ive been told a method of doing this is heating up the glue with a hairdryer and removing it with fishing line. is this the way to go?if not how would u go about it?

Bingo! Just don't get too close to the paint work with that hair dryer.

Big Kev goo remover works a treat to get the rest of the crap off, or should I say goo - Eucalyptus oil is another that works.

cheers dude. im to assume that there is goin to be a ugly outline of it due to the fact that the paint underneath has never seen sun? anyway of fixing this apart from respray?

Not really, unfortunately ... if you polish the panel you can sorta blend it in though, so it's not as noticeable unless you squint. Or get new badging; new-looking badges, IMHO, really make an older car look "neat".
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
