    Jaycar Rev Limiters

I searched and found some info on what I was after (Rev limiters) and there was quite a bit of mention of the Jaycar Shiftlight/Rev Limiter.

Does anyone know if these work on carby engines, or do they need injectors/ecu or something?

In particular, I'm about to buy a RX7 (SeriesIII 12A) and I'd like a rev limiter just sorta as 'insurance', in case I get a little carried away :p

Look up the Jaycar web site and read the blurb. I'm sure it will tell you whether it is capable of interrupting apoints ignition system for you.

    cheers

"The rev limiter can be connected to 2 & 4 stroke engines with 1 to 12 cylinders and uses Hall Effect, points, low voltage signal reluctor or ignition coil to measure RPM"

Ya reckon this is rotory compatible?

Well, maybe you might need two of them for a dual points set up, but maybe not. I'm not enough of an auto-eleccy to remember whether you can short a single wire and kill a dual point dizzy.

        Perhaps PM Secoh.
