Sump Design

sorry about the hijack. but..

this thread got me thinking about my sump....
im not very "baffle smart"

but this is a sketch and photo of my custom FJ20 sump...

it has no baffles, and the car will see the track alot.

in the red. would this be ok to have welded in as a baffle or am i headed in the wrong direction here??

They are both the same custom sump for the RB30

Somewhere not too long back on carcraft dot com or maybe hot-rod dot com there was an article (it'll be in the freebies in the archives) where they discuss the concept, including some decent pics of a baffled sump, including one that has hinged doors (really simple but effective stuff) that allow oil to get to the oil pump pickup, but close going the other way, so it doesn't run away.

It's got clear pics that would make it a breeze to adapt the idea to any sump you might be contemplating. If you can't find the article let me know I'll hunt it down.
