r31 PINTARA performance upgrading ?

Hi, have this vehicle, 1987 RWD 2ltr efi. Question is can performance b improved much with chip replacement,bigger injectors, cam etc, reason is was stolen and rolled body is stuffed but still runs & drives ok. am stripping at the moment as most other stuff is in vgc and thinking of running it as speedway sedan any suggestions to improve grunt of this motor much appreciated, thanks. p.s have a heap of pinny/skyline bits for sale cheap.

Forget spending any money on the CA20...it's a dog. Whatever money you spent on it would be better of being put toward a CA18DET or even an RB30.

Check out the r31 forum for all the answers to your questions. Fact of the matter is that pintaras are slow, and skylines are not much quicker.
There are better and cheaper cars to play with.

i have a r31 pintara s/wagon with a ca18 et engine, which is a single cam efi turbo, factory set-up, the engine was an import, i have since pulled the turbo & manafold set up of it (made not to bad power for a roady but thirsty on fuel when towing a race car), I used a standard r31 computer and just retarded the base timming a little to eliminate detonation and used injectors out of a subaru ea81 et engine. this engine conversion i have seen in a datto 1600 with extra boost and aftermarket ecu making about 220hp im told and by the way it went id beleive it! just another option!
