Why do some cars run the AFM in the intercooler plumbing?

    I had this setup on my rb silvia.

    It really only gets a better reading when you back off the throttle, as flutter plays with the AFM.

    In my opinion I would not go ahead with it unless its absolutly necessary. Mine was clamped and epoxy'd in and still blew the cooler pipes of it too many times. And that was only 10psi through a t4....

      a friend has doen it on his ca datto made 220 rwkw so far after the cooler as well why did he do it
      for the big open bell mouth look :D he see no disadvantage with it

        I've seen alot of DR30 Jap engine bays, and this is how they seem to do the AFM, they keep the standard ECU and just piggy back it with a HKS F-CON or something similar i supposed to keep the driveabilitly of the standard ECU and then being able to slightly tune it *shrugs* I agree with what GTSboy has stated piss it off and use a complete aftermarket ecu!!

        The other thing to is that an FJ20et AFM is a flap not a hot wire setup
