Mate i am still in the process of my conversion, 86 Piazza motor into a 84 Gemini. Trust me you DONT want to try and use the standard computer, i have heaps of electrical experience and never manged to get it running with the standard loom. I also know of another person whi had a auto elec try and wire the engine up with standard loom and never had any success.

Keep the wiring harness though. You will only need to unplug the harness at the main wiringing harness comming from the injectors but also KEEP the harness with the injector resistor on it (looks like a rectangler silver box with white ceramic inside)

Get a microtech / haltech and use this its simple as.

i will post some more info later when i have the time.

    Cheers

I agree I have done this conversion twice now an dboth times I have used a Microtech computer. Much easier to do and in the end it will work out cheaper because you should be able to wire it up your self as opposed to having to get an Auto elec to do it for you. As for the engine mounting the best way to go is either the diesel cross member or modified engine mounts I have used both. As a side note you will also need and auto tail shaft to mate to the gearbox.

Thanx for the advice but I am not one to listen until I have done the research myself. I would like to have a look at the wiring diagram before I spend the money on an aftrermarket computor.

Ok, I had several copies of the wiring diagram floating around somewhere in hard copy but I have moved a couple of times since I will see if I can find it. I know at least one copy went with the guy that I did the last engine conversion for. I will see if I can find his email so that you can get in contact with him. He lives in Ipswich and drive a Red Gemini coupe. It was very hard to get the original copies and I had to pull a few strings to get the copies that I had.

While I think of it also EFI82 you had better get a move on with that conversion you came and took pics of mine about 2 years ago. You are certainly taking your time.

Yep, we got hacked. Will be back when joe the webmaster man has the spare time to get everything working again.
Don't worry, thats just the self-preservation instinct, in my experience you can safely ignore it.
