I do have the same thing, in the KA24E head, the cam receives oil through the rocker bars and the cam caps, which then ends up forming a bath deep enough between the cam cap sections. The lobes end up being continually submerged on each rotation. Previously i had filled these with clean oil last time i installed a new cam in addition to assembly lube.Originally posted by jmac View PostIt'd likely depend on the motor. Some ohc engines have the lobes sitting in a bath of oil (volvo 4s come to mind) and will get plenty of oil no matter what, so you probably could get away without running the cam in. Likewise those with roller tipped rockers (some ohc ford 6s for example) .

Rimula in Oz, Rotella in the US last time I checked. Used to be Rotella in Oz, that may be goinmg back a while thoughOriginally posted by jmac View Postif you're looking for zinc dithiophosphate (or whatever it's called) from memory 'rotella' is the go - that itself might be a monograde too. It's way too long since I've looked at any of this stuff to remember brands sorry.
