    Holden "S" button problem

    Hey there,

On most holden cars that I have seen, there is a "S" button on the auto shifter for a sports mode, although when the "S" light flased it means there is a problem.

For me, I am having the "S" light flash and the auto box will not drive wile in D, but you can go if you manualy shift from 1,2,3...get to D and it spacks out.

My question is, if anyone knows what the cause of this could be? a sensor..or the ECU..if you have had anything similar, how did you fix it.

Its on my wifes Barina but Ive seen this button and warning light as a standard in alot of holdens..so I thought I would ask

    Thanks
    Mark

my guess is the shifter plate thingo for the selector on the gearbox requires re-alignment or replacement - it causes dramas when even a little bit out, blows tail light fuses, you name it.

im afraid that is a job for a holden dealer...

      Hi Mark and welcome.
Yeah have to agree with Rollin about the job being a Holden dealer special.
Not uncommon so a fix should be pretty quick and not too exxy.

      Cheers , Pete
