Well hit a bit of a rough bit fitting these injectors(RX7 13B N/A 440cc), when i try and fit them in they dont sit all the way down in the injector port. And also looks like injector braket that holds them down wont fit either.
I am trying to decide now if i should try sell these(just had them cleaned and got new plug ends and wiring) and get some Bosch 420cc injectors that apparently bolt straigh in for $136 + gst per injector (hose tail style as well)
Here is some pictures of what i am talking about.
Any idea's / suggestions ?
injectors beside each other
stock injector
RX7 injector
stock injector in manifold (top middle view) with stock piazza rubber boot
RX7 injector in manifold (top middle view) with stock rx7 rubber boot
This is how the stock injectors bolt into the mainfold(note the clams that hold these down, i dont think these will fit onto the RX7 injectors?)
another example of clamp
I swapped the rubber boot over from the piazza injector to the rx7 injector as its alot smaller and this was the results. (still very small gap by the looks)
Injector with stock piazza rubber (small one) and Rx7 rubber (big one)
injector in manifold
thanks to YLD48U's tips i have now managed to get the injectors to fit into the port a little better. below is what they look like sitting in the port using the stock piazza injector rubber o-ring. A fair bit of the injector nozzle is exposed will this be ok ? and i am not sure if the sit into the manifold enough?
Next mission is to get the clamp down section off the old injectors and onto the new ones i have included pictures of this as well.
RX7 injector with piazza stock o-ring in manifold.
RX7 injector from inside of manifold
Bracket i need to change over and do i need another rubber part for new injectors?(circuled in red)
The seal can come off, and you can just get a new one. They dont cost much. You may be able to put it back on the 13B ones , they are just a ring like the bottom seal. And then you put the bracket on before it and press it into the seal in the manifold. When you do up the nuts it should pull the injector down into the bottom seal, and the clap should be done up about as much as the piazza one.
Well i have decided to sell the RX7 injectors and get some bosch 460cc injectors that will bolt straight in and are hose tails style.
I cant run a aftermarket fuel rail as the thermo stat section is in the way. And i dont want to use the injectors as a hose tail style injectors they wernt made fot that.
Going to lose some $$ but will save alot of stuffing around in the end.
you could break even on the scrote ones, won't the bang straight into a CA18?
