    Spray painting, how to finish?

Ok I have sprayed all the coats on the car. What to do now?
Do I sand with 2000 wet or buff with polish? It is acrylic with no clear. I doubt Ill put clear on?

Also how long after the last coat do I do this please.

    Cheers

What is the finish like? How much paint did you put on?

Usually you would onbly need to wet rub it with 1200 or 2000 if the orange peel is excessive, or to remove fuck ups.

Get a foam pad for your buff and some machine buffing compound. Keep the surface damp- water spray bottle is good, and keep compound on the buff when you want it to cut, then lightly buff it off once the surface has glossed up.

Take it easy near edges, and start somewhere inconspicuous..:D

Ok well about 7 coats, no orange peel (lucky I guess lol).

But its tiny bit splattered like paint came out ot as a mist in a few spots (cheap gun and compressor) and its just not SHINY.

      Just wanting to finish off.

Buff only first and see how it goes. As I said before, try somewhere inconspicuous first.

If you have a mate who has buffed stuff let him show you how. It is easy to make a mess of things, although the new foam pads make it 1000000 times easier than lambswool..

don't lean on the buff and don't leave it in one spot, keep it moving across the panel. And as muz said, watch out for edges or gutter rails or any protrusions as it is really easy to burn through if you're not careful (dont ask me how )

flygti was stoped n G'ed up to do a a burn out,n as we all no it doesnt take much to get him g'ed, so he did the burnout but who could blame him he had earned it with the effort he put in to be in the cruise and help it go ahead safely

With Arylic the longer wait the better. It gives time for it to go really hard. I would wait 1 week at least before colour sanding and buffing.

Just have a question is it a straight color or metelic?

You should wait 4 weeks before you rub it down with 1200 to buff it up. use a good quality cutter G6 & a foam pad with water.

If it is a metelic color it want buff up to a shine without clear on it.

                thanks
