Neither - how about a Darwin weather inspired change. I inherited the Shoei from my brother when it was about 4 yrs old. It lasted me 6 months until the liner fell apart. I then purchased an Arai which lasted me 2 yrs until the buckles rusted. I sent it back to the importers with a bitter complaint. They had the factory replace the straps and it then lasted me another 2 yrs. In the meantime (it took 6 months to turn that one around) I used my brothers Arai. That is now retired at an age of about 4 years with rusty buckles. My current Arai I have had for about 18 months and it is still looking pristine. Rusty buckles are a common complaint in Darwin. I've seen at least 3 Willans FIA 3" harnesses that are not yet at end of life, but have been knocked back by scruitineers because of rusty buckles. My Sabelt harness is looking OK still (touch wood), and that expires at the end of next year.
What is really irritatiing is that I've never seen a "cheap" helmet or an RPM or RCI harness (non-FIA) with rusty buckles. It seems as though its only the expensive gear that does it.

Does it have a snell sticker? Thats actually a higher standard than AS so then it should be ok, if not you might be in trouble.

Chad- as long as it complies with either the Snell SA whatever, or the BS whatever is specified in the manual, it'll should be fine

edo- they never ever ring back... don't ever expect it... even when they've fucked you round for 3 weeks and you need a license by the weekend, they just won't bother.. they will have taken your cash as soon as they received your form

Anyone who's had to deal with CAMS would enjoy dealing with a government agency.

I think the clerk of course or something that day was high up in cams?? he mentioned his name as well???
