Just about everything I'd say... you'd have to get down around the weight of a regular torana Xu-1 obviously.

Probably have to chuck out about 300-400lb of stuff (150-200kg)

Got more info on that Xu-1 motor...

Bathurst 12000 head it had... duralite pistons, starfire rods. It was a 186 stroked to 208. Big chevy harmonic balancer and lightened flywheel.

He said for a VC you'd want probably a few fibreglass panels where possible as well.

                    making 280hp

Would I be able to make 250-300hp?
                    Any one have any ideas?
Should I start with an 202ci as an base or an 186ci and stroke it(186 to 235ci)?

If you're going to stroke it you may as well get a blue/black 202... they have fully counterweighted cranks...

You're going to be spending a fair bit of cash on a six trying to chase 300hp. I couldn't justify it but you can definitely reach that figure.

                        - 234ci stroker kit
                        - fully prepped block
                        - vk EFI or triple webers (I'd go EFI for driveability)
                        - yella terra alloy 12 port head
                        - 10:1 compression
                        - solid cam, lifters
                        - pacemakers

                        not cheap.

Just to wet your lips, a bloke I know who's dad has a GTR XU1 built a 202 from hell! It's all race spec though, with 13:1 compression, triple webers, alloy head but no stroker and it made 350hp! It smokes it up in all five gears and runs 12's down the quarter. Oh yeah, and it helps when his old man owns a performance shop.

                          damn it can't stop drooling!

                          350hp from an 202ci(drool,drool) shit, that's an spicy 202!
Okay I still want to be able to fill up at the servo.
300hp is an near impossiable level to reach yet alone 350hp, I would stettle for 250-280hp(hee hee) :D :p

i know a guy with a 380hp (supposedly) @ rear wheels turboed 202 in a stripped out LJ GTR XU1. Mind you, you'd want to own a petrol refinery, seeing as he gets 1.6 miles/gallon

I am going through an 'old school' phase at the moment too, building up a tough L20.

In Adelaide, there is a Orange LC or LJ Torana that frequents the local street drags ... he generally runs low (read flat) 10s.

The answer is a healthy dose of Nitrous Oxide!

                              ("Dude your getting Nawz") hehehehe

Serisouly, build up your bottom end with some Starfire Rods and decent pistons, decent balanced crank, bump up the compression, and feed it some laughing gas. Run the afore mentioned EFI setup, and say Hello to 12's in your VC. With the right rubber and trans combo mind you!

                                nos(throttle in a bottle)

How much gas would I be able to run?
I've been told that using nos equal to the engines orignal hp can be done on stock internals :p ?????
