        blue 202. Frawley Built.

        Lightend bottom end, ARP Bolts,
        Lightweight pistons
        Big Solid Cam
        Head ported
        Triple 45mm Carbies

        Stage 2 trimatic

or something similar to that. Sounds tuff, goes great.

will push a commy into the high 13's with little effort..

          Re - Hemi in VK

I think it would depend on which state you were in in regards to putting a Hemi in a VK due to the cost & legality.
To make it legal in New South Wales it would need an engineers certificate,it would be harder legally & financialy to put it into a VK than say a HQ because of all the sniff tests, etc you would have to go through due to the emission control requirements,it can be done but it costs about $1100 to pass it "IF" it passes the first time around.
It is something like $900 to do the sniff test and another $200 odd just to obtain the certificate to say it has been passed,if the test fails, you have to go away & rectify the problem then come back & spend another $900 .
This is what an engineer told me and it might make more sense to fit either a V6 or Holden V8,there are loopholes in these laws such as getting a 304 c.i. v8 for the VK,fit a different cam & stroker kit to bring it out to 355 c.i.,may not put out the standard emissions, but who's going to look, many mechanics will just fill out the blue slip & call it a 5 litre.
Different story if it is a Hemi as they are going to look and suddenly realise it isn't a Holden motor, the police & insurance companies & RTA that is,as when the blue slip is written out they want proof of purchase or want to know where the engine came from.

Hey does anyone know who owns the hemi 6 powered VK commodore?
Would I be able to get a hemi6 powered commodore registred in Q.L.D?

Clark-E: How much would u be asking? How many Km's have it done since the build? Has it actually been proven to run 13's in an commodore e.g on the strip or on an power to weight equation taken from an dyno run?

                  hemi

I have the hemi 6 commodore and its a VH, and its mod plated and rego'ed in Queensland. I’ve done the spend heaps of money on a 202 thing as well, and take my advise and don’t bother. If your good with your hands then go a hemi 6 but its a lot of work and the gearbox selection leaves something to be desired.

all the people saying the vn v6 is crap obviously haven't played with one and they are just jumping on the bandwagon by giving it shit. As much as I like my hemi 6 I would say go the vn v6, it might not go as hard as a worked 265 but it will be a nicer combo to drive, and having one of the best efi systems on it from the factory (Delco) gives you heaps of scope for mods in the future, plus you get a wicked 4 speed auto the turbo 700..

Please don’t spend stupid amounts of money on a 202, it’s just not worth it

how much does the kit cost? what does it come with? You don't realy need a kit but the wiring is a little tricky..

How about the falcon 4L six for a conversion into an early commodore? There is a guy with some simple kit to make serious HP from them and the engines are cheap to buy. Also 5speed boxes are no prob.

ohh, don't want to comment on that idea.. maybe you could sell the commodore and put a ford 4l into a cortina or something..

I don't realy want to know the price but i found it, about $1250

I did it for my mates car for less than 2 grand and that included a wrecked VN plus all parts. it would have been less than 1800 if we didn't have to replace the rear main seal on the engine plus the timing chain dampner/tensioner.. but you get that,

                                Re - Falcon in Commodore

From what I have heard, even from Ford people, they wouldn't touch a 4 litre Falcon engine with a 40 foot pole, prefer to stick with a more durable 4.1 litre pushrod motor.
We have a PUSHROD BUICK V6 in our VX COMMODORE and they are a nicer motor than the loud, rough and not very durable OHC 4 LITRE FALCON NOFLOW INLINE 6,seems to be when the Fords get the kays on them they start running rough,I have heard of taxis needing engine rebuilds at 300,000 kays whereas the Buick motor pulls strong at twice that, they also have very poor airflow at their top RPM range.
The VX V6 is a very smooth motor but it doesn't mean I am dead against overhead cam motors, there are far better motors out there than the Ford engines, try these makes :- GM,Nissan,Toyota,BMW,SAAB .
General motors seem to know something about these pushrod motors that a lot of companies don't,mind you the Toyota V8 is also a pushrod engine,in regards to Holden they "do" make overhead cam motors for Daewoo,SAAB and soon you might see a Hyundai being powered by a GMH engine.
I have never been in a car with a worked Hemi 265 but I have been in a VN Commodore modified by HSV,they are surprisingly very quick in N/a form
