    I imagine the gearbox in question is probably a 'FWD' style gearbox and that it is actually the engine being tilted with the aim of adjusting the bellhousing being to keep the gearbox in its standard plane.
    Although I haven't read the latest issue of the magazine so I can't be sure

        I thought the reason that particular engine was mounted on an angle in the first place was to make the sparkplugs completely inaccessible :D

          The idea is to see if I can raise the height of the output shafts relative to the crankshaft, thus lowering the CoG relative to the wheel centres.
          Engine and gearbox are miti 380.

            So you want to lower the motor and clock the box to maintain DS alignment?

              correct, though engine is in project car. DS allignment, lower c/g etc are the drivers for considering the change.

                I'd go plate then. Does the diff sit in a sump?

                  It has its own section of the casing as you can imagine, but I have not been able to open it up to have a look.
