Are my Discs on back to front..!.?

Never really noticed before but I was just looking at them the other day and I think they have been put on back to front. :knock:

I think the groves should be facing the other way....?

    Thoughts?

Caliper is on the leading edge (front)

Rotates anti clockwise into the caliper in that shot

That orientation will swipe the dust outwards. Is that not good?

I believe they're correct......based on all the slotted rotors i've seen (including mine) being of the same orientation.

More important than the direction of the slotting is the direction of the internal vanes. If the vanes slope the same way as the slotting or are unidirectional, then you've got it on the correct way.
Don't worry, thats just the self-preservation instinct, in my experience you can safely ignore it.

They face the opposite direction to the Slots:

So....I went to a Perth Brake 'Specialist' yesterday in Myaree with the GTR to see if the Disks were on back to front, and to quote on rear discs and Pads that i require.
                  It went something like this:

Went into office, two people in there, asked whether they could have a quick look at my discs to verify if they are indeed back to front.

"Not right now you'll have to make a booking"

It'll only take a second the car is right outside.

                  "Hmmmm....OK" *unenthused*

He says brake discs are fine the way they are.

We discuss rear disc brakes and Pads for my car, he gives me quote on buisness card, $1000+ job.

I go to leave, but car will not start, Flat battery, been sitting around for months.....37 degrees outside I try to push start few times myself....no go.

Go back into office, tell them I have flat battery.

                  "Sorry we dont do electrics"

I know, just wondering if I could grab a push start.

                  "No were to busy"

Well fuck that for customer service.....wont be going back there in a hurry..actually ever!

The Brembo slotted rotors are the other way around.

The grooves don't matter imho; but the vanes certainly do.

If part of the purpose of the slot is to transfer gasses from between the pad and the disc away then those discs are fitted correctly. Centrifugal forces naturally push the gasses outwards and a trailing slot is a better vent.l

You had better tell StopTech that, theirs have the slots facing forwards too.

                              Okay I'll spell it out;

The orientation of the slot is immaterial.

Notice the clever way that our late mate Carroll Smith liked them to be?
