    Aftermarket Brake Lines

    I'm going to replace the factory rubber brake lines on the AP 4 spot (front + rear) brake package fitted to my Monaro CV8-R. Looking at aftermarket braided lines.

    Safebrake make a specific package that will do the job:

    Included in the package:

    Front left axle = 1 hose (Suit HARROP, AP 6pot or 4pot)
    Front right axle = 1 hose (Suit HARROP, AP 6pot or 4pot)
    Rear left axle = 1 hose (Suit HARROP, AP 4pot)
    Rear right axle = 1 hose (Suit HARROP, AP 4pot)
    Rear left chassis = 1 hose (Suits car with Traction Control)
    Rear right chassis = 1 hose

    Total = 6 hoses kit

    However I was wondering if I am better off getting custom braided lines made up by somewhere like Race Brakes? Would this option be ADR approved like the Safebrake package? The Safebrake package is well priced but obviously anything brake related must be done to the highest standard. Any thoughts?

    Unless there is a specific reason to go custom, mass produced will usually be cheaper.

    Race brakes do great stuff though - highly recommended.

      I would get the off the shelf ones from Safebrake if they fit.

      You would normally need custom ones only if you have modified the brake system, ie changed calipers and/or master cylinders.

        Thanks guys, I grabbed the Safebrake kit after assurances they fit.
