    Coilovers on solid axle commodore

Thinking of running some s13/14 rear coilovers on the back of my vs ute. Assuming the shock mounts will take the load, will this work? Just like running coilovers on a custom 4 link?

Just seems like itíd be heaps easier setting up spring and shock rates. Thoughts?

Can pretty much buy all adjustable bolt up parts from top & bottom control arms, adjustable spring bases etc

Once setup properly with beefy anti-roll bar should be set & forget.

Start doing coil-overs you'll want to tub it etc
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

S14 one's are about as high as the parcel shelf in a sedan. I have them fitted to my vc. S13 would be about as high as the tubs ( all brand dependent of course )
Surely a set of king sl and some re valved konis would suit drag racing better. And just bolt in

even s13 will be too tall for the factory shock mounts, you'd need to build towers into the tray.

factory mounts would also struggle to take the load i'd imagine

Ute doesn't have a top shock mount on the wheel tub. Would need to make them no matter what.

Soft original rear spring, lower control arm horizontal, koni yellow, 2deg nose down. Plenty for 8s

If you want to get a bit more advanced, get instant centre 9" up and 29" out

Spring will depend what height you require to get lca horizontal.

Top performance will probably have them

Apparently they donít do yellows to suit vs utes only reds

If you are keeping it pretty high, sedan ones will be ok

Pretty sure I can whip up some shock mounts, is there an online sizing chart somewhere?

I have some old rear Koni reds laying around that were off a FG Falcon.
Assuming totally incorrect size but yours for $50 for the pair if want.
