Rear exhaust done, china valve fitted
Hole cut in the wheel well for the charge pipe

One segment of piping left to make
Need to route the intake piping when those bends turn up
    Plumb the intercooler...

They are the bees knees for making exhausts and intercooler piping and you can cut anything with one.
Second only to a cold cut saw but they are proper money and they are picky with thin wall pipe and the right blade. Band saw with...

Got a fair bit done today.
    Oil system is done
Exhaust has been made to the turbo, all tacked up sans one flange
Charge piping done and tacked upto the intercooler

    Running the air...

Foamy has been doing me lots of solids, also making solid mounts for things

Plan is to get the exhaust upto the turbo done tomorrow along with the oil system. Hopefully be able to start it and see how the pump goes.
    Waiting...

I know when I remove the 1/8 plug where I've teed oil from it drains a solid 500ml and that's without what will be in the line - I suspect it will be a fairly slow gravity drain through the turbo into the sump hence why I went with the 1.5psi check valve...

  • Hafco stuff is good, a lot of parts in the country get made with their machines.

The Al336 is the pick of the lathes, not big, not small, good general size. Foamy here has one, it's good. It's not exactly cheap but it's a good thing to have...

I've got a couple of Redarc TIM05's from a job long since gone which will do the job; Probably run the W2A pump and oil pump for 10 seconds after shutdown. Check valve in the turbo supply should limit the amount of oil after shutdown.
    How big is...

Yeah I see people connecting them straight to the fucking turbo, they are positive displacement gear pumps - What goes in must go out.
I can only imagine they pull a pretty hard vacuum on the turbo seal and make a lot of noise cavitating trying...

    Porsche did the same thing as some Suburu WRX;
They run a mechanical scavenge pump off a camshaft

The Marco pump I have is nearly identical except the gears are helical and its 12v so its a sound idea to do it.
    The TurboWrex...

Its all cloak and dagger shit, all the cars that actually work well are done by workshops and they take their hard earned secrets to the grave.

The basics, as far as I can tell:

Run small diameter for engine size exhaust upto...

Yeah, just to reduce pressure drop.
Turbo has what looks to be a 2mm hole going into the cartridge for the bearing so it shouldn't consume that much oil....

Good rear mount turbo info is pretty sparse; Guessing most of them are done by workshops.
Getting along, figured out where to mount the turbo, intercooler and heat exchanger. Not anticipating a large heat load so going...

replied to ID injectors - Where to buy?
For an average build does it even matter? Is it just a case where it matters if your trying to get really large injectors to be consistent at very low duty cycles.
OEM's just bang in Bosch injectors without issues, they dont flow match sets or...
